Electronic platform design

I was responsible for the design of the electronic platform after the change of the overall design. Two relays, an Arduino mega, an H-bridge and a converter needed to be placed in a relatively narrower space, so the hole pattern needed to be carefully designed. I’ve thought of two ways to place the electronic parts, one was on the top of the platform, but the hose coming from the valves would occupy some space. The other was on the bottom of the platform, then where to place the battery would become a problem. Finally, I adopted the first choice because I didn’t want to see the electronics getting too close to the cleaning surface, which would make wiring difficult. The first edition of the electronic platform is shown in the figure. The four holes in the center is for fixing the platform to the chassis. Since the length of the platform was limited because of the valves, I needed to increase the width of it, which made the robot look a little clumsy.

To make the platform narrower as well as make it easier to operate on the platform, we came up with an idea that we should bend the two wings of it a little. The outcome was good. The model looks more compact.
